Greenwood Emergency Vehicles Celebrates Opening of New Facility in Brunswick, Maine

New location will serve as headquarters for sales and service for all of Maine

Home town Chief presents Greenwood North with it's first dollar!

BRUNSWICK, Maine…Greenwood Emergency Vehicles is celebrating the opening of its brand-new sales and services facility in Brunswick, Maine ~ located at 19 Summer Street.

Greenwood, a North Attleboro, Massachusetts-based company, is the largest emergency apparatus dealer in New England. Greenwood has sold in excess of 100 fire trucks, ambulances, and emergency vehicles to Maine fire departments over the last few years, and the company’s President, Tim O’Neill, decided those customers deserved a first-class facility dedicated to their service needs.

"Geographically, service was a challenge for our Maine customers, who come from all over the state,” says O’Neill.  “We committed to opening this facility three years ago, so we’re just thrilled that this day has finally arrived.”

Equally as happy is Brunswick Town Manager Don Gerrish.  “We’re so pleased that Tim and the folks at Greenwood picked our community to headquarter the Maine facility.  We know the added service will benefit all of Maine’s residents and be a help to all emergency services personnel,” adds Gerrish.  “We’re looking forward to having Greenwood as one of our corporate citizens.”

Greenwood plans to hire about a half-dozen new employees for the Maine facility, which is comprised of two buildings, a 1300 square foot sales area and a 2200-plus square foot service bay.  Greenwood purchased the land and structures, which used to house local oil company Theabault Energy, earlier this spring; it took about six months to renovate the site to accommodate the new business.  John Regan, Vice President of Business Development for Greenwood, has engineered the launch of the new location, and sees a great future for the company at its new home in Brunswick.  "I expect we'll add about a half a dozen new jobs over the course of the next twelve months," he says.  "There's room for future expansion, and I believe we have a great potential for future growth here."

The new Brunswick facility will house new apparatus and additional stock units, as Greenwood does at the company’s headquarters in Massachusetts.  Soon, customers in Maine will be able to obtain service, customization, and new vehicles on a more timely basis.  While Greenwood North will serve all of Maine, most of the current business comes from cities and towns near Brunswick, including: Standish, Westbrook, South Portland, Sanford, and Windham.

Windham Fire Chief Charlie Hammond says the added support, sales and service will really benefit the region.  "
Greenwood has been great about keeping its promise to better serve our communities.  They have helped make this little corner of New England a safer place for everyone."
